The Gurus Don't Always Get It Right
For several months now I have been bleating onto my colleagues that I wish somebody would speak up and tell people why the commonly held wisdom that Internet Marketers should get into the habit of writing 1 article each and every day and submitting it to 1000s of Article Directories is absolutely RUBBISH! So as no one is speaking up….I decided it was time to step up to the plate in the make money online arena and throw my cap in the ring.I can’t believe how long the Gurus within Internet Marketing have been peddling instructions to write your article and then submit it to thousands and sometimes tens of thousands of Article Directories. Well here goes. It is not going to take me long to get to the nub of my post today….but reading it and more importantly taking action, could have a massive impact on your effort, spend and the growth of your business.
So here goes…
Out of all those tens of thousands of Article Directories that every body bangs on about, 99% of them them are not even indexed in any of the major search engines. Big news eh? What I am saying is that only the Article Directories on the first 2 or 3 pages of Google have any weight in terms of their PR (Page Rank) or PPR (Page Position Ranking) when it comes to being able to drive traffic (visitors) to your web site or build your organic SEO and help you figure out more effectively how to make money online.
The optimized strategy that all the top guys actually use and never talk about is to create 100 articles or even a 1000 articles and submit each one to the top PR and PPR ranked Article Directories. It is important of course that you do not duplicate the content on each of the Article Directories….in fact most of them have filters that pick this up and stop it.
Now let me be clear about what I mean by duplicate content. As far as Search Engines are concerned they are principally concerned with duplicate content on your site. So simply never do this. Keep it all fresh, unique and relevant.
There are tools on the market (most of which I have to say work only partially at best and some which are quite frankly terrible). These Article Duplicators in theory take one article and create multiple non-duplicate articles from the original. But do please be careful, as many of these do not work properly.
I’ll be posting a brand new link to a Video Blog in the next few days which will expand on this in a lot more detail and also provide you with the complete solution.
May your success be more than you can hold!

Interesting.
I’ve heard about programs that duplicate article content… but never really go for one.
Would you recomend one?
Why would you say it’s rubish?
I really thoguht it worked
So what would you consider to be more important when it comes to article writing then?

Submit articles to article directories work but how to choose the best ones??
Hussam
I still don’t know how to use articles for SEO?
Which are some interesting or good article directory sunmitters?
Donna
OK Kevin – Give us some meat here! You tell us what is rubbish?
How about some info on what he best directories actually are? Or the best way to locate them? What are the better article re-writers or is is better to go with out tasking?
Being a bit of a devil’s advocate here, but enquiring minds want to know.
and . . . @ Donna: at the very base you write and article containing the keywords you are wanted to target, put them in the title too if possible. Then in the bio section of the article you include a link back to your own website.
When these are published in a directory, if you’ve done your work properly they will begin showing up when people search for that keyword. IF they read the article and click your link you’ve got a visitor.
Probably more important though is if the directory you submit to has good google rank, when the search engines search that directory, they fine your article with your keywords and a link to your site. It creates a backlink (can be more than 1) to your site and increases the rank of your site.

Hi Folks. Thanks for the comments. I expected a request for more info and so in the next few days I’ll be providing you with a video blog post that will answer all those questions (at least I hope it will) and also provide you with a couple of tools that will provide you with a really first class solution.
Kevin
I don’t think it’s possible to submit one article to 1000’s of article directories.
Once your article gets submitted to a directory you’ll start getting the duplicate content penalty if you submit the same one to other and there’s even a chance you’ll get banned from posting articles to those article directory’s.
The best thing to do is create unique content or re spin the content.
Article Marketing can and does work to create backlinks and traffic.
Here is some additional info and popular article sites.

Great to see people wading in on this one.
Teen Blogger – you can if you are able to change the synonyms and so deliver unique articles effectively and easily. The only thing you then need to change is the title.
How2SucceedOnline I couldn’t agree more. My issue is with people who teach that submitting to hundreds and thousands of Article Directories works. It can’t there are only about 30 Article Directories ranked on the first 2 or 3 pages of google and the other search engines, where the value of their PR and PPR is worth accessing in terms of back links. Some are not even within or picked up in the Search Engine indexes. And with back links, the importance is more than just the absolute amount, but ILQ rating which places a value on things like the age of the site, the TLD and so forth.
My video blog which is the next blog post on this site, expands on this a little more.
Best to you all.
Gets us all thinking.

Is this true? How do i choose the best directories?
It is important to note the duplicate content filter. There really is only a couple of reasons why people will post 1 article to 1,000 article directories.
Firstly, not all directories will publish the respective article, and secondly, to generate traffic (hopefully) from people clicking on their ‘resource box’.
You’re better off spending more time writing more articles and posting them to PR4+ article directories. Not only do they have the traffic but also the link back to your website will be from a higher PR. In addition, the higher the PR article directory the higher the chances your article will still be live in 1 – 2 years time.
Finally, you need to ensure you link back to your website. An article is only useful if there is a link to your webiste. Wiithout it, it has been a waste of time.
