Kevin

As a small business coach, some of my clients balk when I talk about using pay per clicks, at least until they experience it.

It's the upfront shock sometimes. The frequent response is: "ahh, it costs $1 for a click through? What would happen if I had 2,000 clicks by tomorrow morning?."

You see, they fear the pay per click, and other forms of marketing because it might cost them some money. They aren't looking at the other end of that, "what it costs to acquire a customer."

If their website conversion is 5% and they paid a dollar per click, then after 20 clicks throughs, at $20 total, they'd have a customer. If what they sell produces a profit significantly higher than $20 they are ahead of the game. In fact, I tell my clients that they SHOULD be asking themselves at that stage, "How many clients do I want to buy" and then get out there cranking that up to buy a ton of them.

But when most websites don't convert at all, or something less than 0.1%, that would require 1,000 clicks or $1,000 to acquire a client. Again, if this is a $10,000 profit that works. But if it's a $20 candle we've got a problem, and we have something to fix.

The problem is that most will fear that they may get a lot of click throughs rather than just plain figuring this out and making it work no matte what they sell.

a lot of this depends on having a great marketing message and structure on their website so the conversion rates make the pay per click VERY PROFITABLE.

Great Article, Kevin

Keywords on the page + keywords off page SEO = traffic + good ranking = profit.

Reckon it is also important to note that people do a lot better targetting incorrectly spelt keywords or specific keywords in a niche rather than fighting competitors with the same keywords. Make sense?
