SEO Is Not Mysterious!

OK, so you’ve heard the term SEO and you might even know what this little acronym stands for, Search Engine Optimization. But for those of us who make money by simply using the tools of a good idea and the infrastructure of the Internet, SEO refers to any of your efforts that you invest to try and get your web site into the first page of Google (and and their smaller siblings, Yahoo, MSN, Bing (or Bling….as I like to call it at present:-)) search engine listing results when someone simply visits the site and types in their natural language searches, otherwise known as Keywords.So for instance if I typed into Google, “make money online” this three word phrase is a keyword and if you use more words in your search phrase, these longer phrases are known as long tail keywords.

Now, everyone loves successful search engine optimization, because you can get lots of traffic (visitors)…and…it’s free or free”ish” as there is no doubt you need to invest in the skills to be able to do this and quite a bit of regular time to get yourself onto the first page of Google!

The problem is, that no one really knows how Google decides where to rank your site and when it will show up. And any expert that tells you that they know exactly how Google’s ranking works and/or guarantees that you’ll get into the top spots (for a fee, of course), is either working at the core of Google and involved in industrial espionage, or they’re telling you some pretty big “fibs” as we call them in the UK.

Nevertheless, there are tried and tested approaches and techniques that you can employ to get wonderful new website to the top of the search results and so figure out more effectively, how to make money working online.
