Don't Stress Getting Traffic
I’ve just got off the stage at a 2 day advanced workshop where I am teaching Internet Marketing newbies alongside the illustrious Paul Lynch who owns one of the largest SEO companies in the world. I thought a quick summary of what I’ve just taught might be interesting and extremely helpful for you.
It doesn’t matter how great your domain name, hosting service provider, web site, free gift and actual product is, if you do not have lots of hungry customers, fresh new customers coming to your site each and every day, you are not going to make money online.
Having said all that, the gurus and SEO specialists so often get bogged down in how difficult and mysterious the whole process of driving traffic to your site actually is. In reality, it is simply a matter of focus, and a simple action process. So here’s a brief summary of the sort of step by step approach you can use:
Article Marketing: Probably one of the most important strategies to make money online, is this simple powerful strategy. Using either www.ezinearticles.com, www.goarticles.com or any one of hundreds of free article directory sites, you can submit a brief article and then watch that article get syndicated around the web and the number of links that point to your site, start to grow. My suggestion would be to write your first 10 articles and get these submitted to your first 10 sites. There’s no need to be stress about traffic because you can get it in SO MANY WAYS that you don’t have to focus SO BAD on that part.

Well… I used to be really concerned about traffic. I thought it was the most important thing to get for your site to start generating income… and I just focus on that. Now I know that there are many things to do in order to get a decent income from your blog… if I had to ask you, how much time should I dedicate to get traffic to my site… what your answer be?

Hey Brandon, it certainly is possible to just keep building the total amount of new visitors to your blog or site. The Cambridge Business Academy now get about 1000 new visitors opting in a day, but it wasn’t always that way. We started small, with a few articles, directories etc and it just grew and grew.

Curious to know what type of results you have seen from article marketing? I know a lot of people talk about it but it seems not very many that I speak with actually do it.
BigManta. Let me give you an example through article marketing in the 4 weeks period for September 2009, if you looked at our Google Analytics stats you would see that our academy pulled in nearly 13,000 unique visitors and generated 892 sales. So article marketing is a core component of our business. Equally if you talked to somebody like Holly Mann of http://www.honestholly.com fame, reputed for her ethical IM stance you would see that AM plays a really significant part within her traffic marketing strategy. Matt Bacack swears by it and it occupies one of the corner stones of his strategy.

Article marketing is one of the best method for generating free and targeting traffic and getting the backlinks.
Most article directories don’t allow for duplicate content and will remove any article if found elsewhere. I don’t know the mechanics of their monitoring systems but I have to confess to writing only original articles for each directory I submit to. If your focus is on creating back-links then quality is not so important. If you are looking to generate visitors to your web page and/or to get your article syndicated then quality is very important. You have to offer the reader something compelling. Article writing has exploded over the last couple of years so your article needs to stand out from the crowd.

Kevin is right. Article marketing works great. The value one sees from article marketing comes after you have submitted many articles. You will notice that the article itself–usually on ezinearticles.com–begins to achieve a page rank on its own because it gets linked to alot. This makes the value of your link even more important!
