My name is Kevin Potts and I’m  the founder of the Cambridge Business Academy. Together with my partners, we focus on Ethically Building Online Businesses that enable ordinary people to make money online. Our style is based on  supporting and coaching individuals, small groups and that massive broad reach that comes with the power of the Internet.

The Early Days

Believe it or not – and I hope you believe it – in my former life I was a full-time church minister  for 8 years, in my beautiful city of Cambridge,  England. I have to be honest, I never wore a dog collar when I was a minister – it was one of those modern churches, but eh, the image, when I wore one as an IM certainly helped identify me in  a crowded market place during the early days.

Towards the end of my time in ministry, I had one massive “panic attack” inducing questions rolling around my brain 24 hours a day. What am I going to do? (actually it was a few more questions – here goes!), Who will employ somebody who only works on a Sunday? (I know that’s what you think:-)) Am I just about totally unemployable? Not good questions and certainly not good for the soul. Anyway, I handed in my notice, and the 6 months clock started ticking and I had to do something, so I turned my mind to an Entrepreneur’s Bootcamp I had been to with my two boys in 2005…and which just totally “confundeled” me…. I have no idea if that is a real word, but I am sure you get the sense of what I mean. Well that was at least the first semi-positive thought that had rolled into and stayed inside those little gray cells for quite some time, so I decided to explore and that’s where my career as an Internet Marketing newbie began.

My First Big Step

I’d like to tell you that I spent tens of thousands of pounds, made loads of mistakes, nearly came to within an inch of losing my life and then discovered the secret! But I can’t, I did invest in a few programs and one workshop. But for me,  it just worked. IM fits me like a glove. I am disciplined by nature, have more than a small dose of OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder)  and so armed with the basics and the 6 months notice clock ticking, I bashed through my ministerial day duties as quickly as possible and then spent the rest of the time, researching, developing my first couple of products and dreaming of helping others – that is simply a carry over from those days in ministry and I don’t think the desire to put back will ever leave me, nor should it!

To cut a long story short, I experimented with a blend of Offline and Online, made mistakes, some costly, but my scoring average was good and by the time I’d had 7 months marketing, I had 1507 paying customers (not prospects – people who had handed over money to me) from my first product, well over $200,000 of income and I new this life was for me. I mean can you imagine what it felt like to pull that sort of income in compared to the sort of money a church minister  earns? Yep – it feels amazing.

Next Steps

Very early on the dream of developing some demonstrable credibility, developing a serious blog for home business people who have a passionate desire to make money online and the dream of founding a serious Academy of learning that had integrity and over delivered with each and every encounter with a student just started to grow within my soul.

And so today,  I run the http://www.CambridgeBusinessAcademy.com with hundreds of thousands of on-line students, where we provide access to free video coaching and undertake countless testing methodologies to play our part in pushing forward the Global Internet Marketing industry. I run this blog, within which I am totally committed to helping people just like you, make it online.

A Never-Ending Process

My journey is not over, in fact it’s only just started. For me I realize the key, the secret to being successful in this amazing industry, has nothing to do with products, or web sites, technology or traffic. All of that can be learned and acquired without a degree in rocket science. The key is sufficient emotional maturity so that you do “Stuff”, you take action, each and every day, come what may.
